How do I update to the 'new' PGe App?

For current NewsSlide users:


Once the 'new' PGe application is launched your mobile app will automatically update to the updated PGe mobile application.


To verify you are using the correct application your icon will match the below icon.

For current PGe users:


You will need to go to your app store (Google Play or Apple App Store). Search for 'Pittsburgh Post-Gazette'. You will want to download the new PGe application.

To verify you are downloading the correct application your icon will match the below icon.



Once you have downloaded the new PGe app to your mobile device. You will want to delete the existing PGe application from your device.


iOS: Simply press and hold on the existing PGe application. This will bring up an 'x' next to the application. Touch on the 'x' to delete the application from your device.

Android:

  1. Select the Settings app from your app drawer or home screen.
  2. Tap Apps & Notifications, then touch See all apps.
  3. Scroll down the list until you find 'PGe Original' and tap on it.
  4. Select Uninstall.

How do I log in as a subscriber?

Upon initial download of the application you will be taken through help screens that will allow you to learn the application.


Along the way there are prompts for you to log into your existing account.


Once you get to the screen that asks if you want to sign in, touch the 'Sign In' button. Click the 'Continue' button on the pop up to continue to the log in screen.

If you skipped logging in after downloading the app you can still log into your account at any time.


Click on the hamburger menu and either browsing mode.

To enter the application settings, touch on the gear icon in the bottom right of the screens.

Once you are on the settings page, touch on the 'Account' tab. Then tap the 'Sign Up' button. Lastly, tap the 'Continue' button to be taken out of the application.

You will be taken to an account creation screen. If you already have an account, touch where it says 'I Have an Account'. You will then be able to log in using your credentials.

How do I log in if I haven't activated my digital subscription?

First you will want to visit my.post-gazette.com/activate to activate your digital access. Complete the steps on this page. To learn more on how to click here.

Once you have successfully activated you digital access, you can now log into the PGe mobile application. To learn more on how to log in as a subscriber, click here.

How do I reset my password?

If you do not know your password and need to reset it, touch on 'I Forget My Password'.


You will be taken to a screen where you can input your email address for a reset password email to be sent.


Once you reset your password you can continue to move through the help screens.

How do I change my viewing choice after the initial setup?

If you are currently setup to view the e-Delivery view touch on the hamburger menu in the top left corner of the screen.

You will be taken to the menu. In the menu you will see a double arrow icon in the bottom right of the screen. Touch that icon.


You will then see a pop up appear that you can choose your viewing option. Touch on 'NewsSlide' to change to this view.


Once you choose your viewing option you will be taken to that view.

If you are currently setup to view the NewsSlide view touch on the hamburger menu in the top left corner of the screen.

You will be taken to the menu. In the menu you will see a double arrow icon in the bottom right of the screen. Touch that icon.


You will then see a pop up appear that you can choose your viewing option. Touch on 'e-Delivery' to change to this view.


Once you choose your viewing option you will be taken to that view.
